Welcome to Killer Kailey's website!
Killer Kailey: what a scary name for a non-scary person. I have a killer appetite for adventure, for pushing myself to the limit or for suffering and trying new things. My killer stubborn streak keeps me going during the wee hours of a race when I would rather throw myself in front of a car. My killer apetite for chocolate helps me stay energized on all of my adventures (at least that is what I tell myself).
This is a site about me, what I am trying to accomplish and why. You see, in order to understand me, you have have to realize that I was not always looking for painful adventure! To learn where it all began, please read the story of about Killer Kailey.
For the past five years, I have been a strong competitive presence on both the local and national Adventure Racing scene (about Adventure Racing) and am working towards competing on the international level (see race calendar).
This season will bring some changes to my race-discipline focus. In addition to AR, I plan to compete in several road and trail running events. It is my goal to become an Ironman Athlete before I turn 30, so I am going to race in a few triathlons as well. See my race schedule for upcoming events and results.
Training for all levels of Adventure Racing, Trail Running and Triathlon requires daily sacrifice and significant time commitments as I need to train myself in many disciplines in order to be at my peak on race day. Physical suffering aside, my bank account is also in a state of constant injury. Racing at this level of dedication requires constant and significant financial commitment. I could not do this without the help of my amazing sponsors and I am always eager to form partnerships with different people and companies.
